One beautiful day the U.S. Department of Homeland Security created a site called ready.org. And for a time, it was good. "Ready.gov is a common sense framework designed to launch a process of learning about citizen preparedness. One of the primary mandates of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is to educate the public, on a continuing basis, about how to be prepared in case of a national emergency Ð including a possible terrorist attack." (http://www.ready.gov/about.html) Then came along the disrespectful citizens to poke fun at the imagery the government had wasted tax money on. And it was even better. A few inspiring examples: Thus was the idea of readydotgovornotreadydotgov born. A site where people could post their comments on the ready.gov pictures and rate other's comments in the good old hotornot fashion. And that is that, really. | |
